On April 25, 2019, the annual friendly meeting of teachers and students of the College of Tourism of St. Petersburg and the Professional College SAMIedu from the city of Savonlinna (Finland) took place at the Tourism department. Our students made a presentation about the College and the Tourism department to foreign guests, the deputy director on extracurricular professional education Liudmila Kuznetcova and a teacher of tourism at the SAMIedu Professional College Mika Nenonen delivered welcoming speech.

Within the framework of the meeting, a business game “Training on the development of a tourist service program in St. Petersburg” was held. SAMIedu students broke into teams and made up for 1 hour and 40 minutes a Program of staying in St. Petersburg for 3 days according to an application from foreign clients in English. 

Next, the teams presented their projects to each other, asked questions and exchanged views. The business game was conducted by the teachers of the Tourism department Dina Mikhailovna Vlasenko, Anna Petrovna Gudkova and Elena Sergeevna Petrova and students of the department: gr.128 - Razumova E., Smirnova M. gr.220 - Burchalova N. gr.127 - Savitskaya A., Gorokhova A., Talipova E. gr.126 - Khokhlova A., gr.422- Bulatovskaya M.

After lunch, the participants went on a walking tour of St. Petersburg along the route from Kazan Cathedral to St. Isaac's Cathedral, designed by Finnish students. The tour was performed in English. The students and teachers of the Tourism department acted as experts in evaluating the excursion. They noted the high level of training of Finnish students and a remarkable knowledge of information.

  

The meeting ended with an exchange of views, suggestions and wishes to participate in such an event next year, the presentation of certificates. The guests expressed gratitude for the invitation and the opportunity to participate in a friendly meeting, as a result of which they received a positive experience in developing a program of serving tourists in St. Petersburg, the opportunity to communicate with native Russian speakers, and meet new friends. We thank all the organizers and participants of the meeting.
